Type seven

Virtue

In Enneagram theory, the virtue of Type 7, also known as the Enthusiast or the Epicure, is often described as sobriety or moderation. Type 7s may be highly focused on seeking pleasure and avoiding pain, and may struggle with feelings of boredom or emptiness.

The virtue of sobriety for Type 7s involves cultivating a greater sense of inner balance and restraint, and learning to recognize and honor the value of both pleasure and pain. Type 7s who embrace sobriety are able to connect more deeply with their own experiences and relationships, and are able to find greater satisfaction and fulfillment in their own lives.

Sobriety can also involve a willingness to acknowledge and accept the limitations and consequences of one's own actions and choices, and to remain grounded and present in the face of discomfort or challenge. Type 7s who cultivate sobriety are able to find a greater sense of inner peace and contentment, by recognizing and embracing the full range of their own experiences.

It is important for Type 7s to recognize and embrace their own virtue of sobriety, and to cultivate a greater sense of self-awareness and self-restraint. This may involve learning to challenge their own tendencies towards distraction or avoidance, practicing mindfulness and self-reflection, and developing a more balanced and present approach to their own experiences and relationships. By embracing their own virtue of sobriety, Type 7s can overcome their tendency towards excess and achieve greater fulfillment and satisfaction in their own lives and relationships.
